Nifty Gateway offers powerful options for configuring your drop page and how it is presented to users. This section will walk you through creating your drop page and assets, configuring your drop page, setting when your drop goes live, hosting in your own site, and more.
By the way - we recommend checking out our Quickstart as an easy way to learn how to build a Nifty Gateway drop!
Drop Basics
A Nifty Gateway drop is a powerful, customizable, inherently flexible way to release NFTs - it is the most powerful way to release NFTs in the world.
Whatever your needs are, the Nifty Gateway Publishers tools is here to support you.
Every drop you release on Nifty Gateway is a set of collections, and each collection is a new, unique creator-owned smart contract that is created just for the release (read more in Smart Contracts).

File Sizes and File Type Recommendations
Every NFT image has a max file size of 300 MB for images and 300 MB for videos.
Every banner and thumbnail has a max file size of 20 MB, but we strongly recommend files under 1 MB for banners and thumbnails. Large files here will slow down the loading time for your banners and thumbnails significantly, possibly making your storefront slow to load.
JPEGs are the most optimized file type, and can almost always be made this size with little loss in quality.
The suggested dimension for the thumbnail image are 450 x 600px.
The banner image has a recommended minimum width of 1600px and has a recommended height of between 600 and 3600 pixels.
Hosting a Drop on Your Own Site
Nifty Gateway seamlessly supports hosting a drop on your own site if you would like to.
To do this, simply create a normal Nifty Gateway Drop, then navigate to the âbuyâ pages for each NFT, copy a link to them, and post the link to buy on your own website.
Users will be redirected straight to the buy page to participate in the drop, and all normal drop settings will apply.
For an example, see the NFT Billboard Drop that Gemini did.
Drop Start and End Time
The Drop Start Time is what the countdown timer will display on the website as the time when the drop opens.
The Drop End Time is what will be displayed on the website as the time when the drop will close.
For Open Edition Drops, the End Time will be when purchasing for the Open Editions ends.
Neither one has an effect on the opening time and/or closing time of the NFTs you create if the NFTs you create may have a separate opening and closing time from the drop. Keep in mind that all of the NFTs you create will have their own opening and/or closing time, depending on the type of NFT it is.
All Drop Time pickers use the Local Time on your computer when selecting dates and times.
If a drop contains only First Come First Serve NFTs, it will be open for 24 hours maximum.
On Chain Configurations - On Chain Owner Wallet and Royalties
You can set the on-chain owner wallet for any collection. This owner wallet will be marked as the owner of this collection using Open Zeppelinâs Ownable **Spec and will be the wallet that can control the collection on other marketplaces, such as OpenSea or LooksRare. To set the on-chain owner wallet, enter a wallet address in the âOn Chain Ownerâ wallet section in the âEnter Drop Informationâ section.
To configure on chain royalties, you can enter a wallet address on each NFT page. This will mark that this wallet is where royalties should be sent using the EIP-2981 specification. Any marketplace that honors that spec will send royalties to that address.
Editing Drop Text Using Markdown
You can edit the page text on your drop page using Markdown. Markdown is a lightweight language that lets you format plain text in a text editor.
Here is a sample of different things you can do on markdown - copy and past this into the Page Text field on the âCreate Drop Pageâ section of the builder, then click âPreviewâ to see what happens.
# Start with a big title
## Continue with a smaller title
Add **bold text**. Right before a line break.
----
Add plain text.
Add a link [link text](<https://niftygateway.com>)
Markdown syntax is well-documented on the internet. To learn about all its powerful functionality, we recommend resources such as the Markdown Cheat Sheet or a Markdown Text Editor to preview text.
Using Banners
A rich banner can be a great way to explain your drop mechanics in detail using visuals.
You can see an example of a drop that does that here.
Content Tagging
When you add and configure NFTs you will have the ability to Tag the content of your NFTs, this will improve the ability for collectors to look them up in our secondary market and sort them according to the tags selected. To tag content search for the âTagsâ area when you configure each of the NFTs and select the tags that more accurately describe the content.
