Zero to NFT in 30 seconds
Nifty Gateway lets your buyers go from zero to NFT in 30 seconds.
Users can sign up with an email and password, buy an NFT with a credit card, and have it go straight to their custody. It is by far the easiest way for a user to get started collecting NFTs.
All Purchasing Options
Here is a list of all the purchasing options Nifty Gateway offers users for buying from drops. Note that some options may not be available on some drop types.
Credit Cards
- Users can save and use credit cards.
Direct Ethereum from Metamask
- Users can pay directly from their metamask wallet in Ethereum. This payment method is only available for some drop types.
Prepaid Ethereum
- Users can deposit Ethereum into a prepaid Ethereum balance which can be used in drops. This is particularly useful when bidding on an auction because you don’t need to call a seperate blockchain transaction for every bid, or when you need to pay quickly on a First Come First Serve drop.
Apple Pay and Google Pay
- Users can pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay on some drop types. Note that this is depending on the device the user is using.
Buy Now Pay Later
- Buy Now Pay Later is generally available when credit cards are available, for purchases of over $10. Klarna, Affirm and Afterpay are the providers we work with.
Nifty Gateway Account Balance
- Users can use their Nifty Gateway account balance to purchase. This is the balance they receive when they sell an NFT on the secondary market, or when they receive proceeds of a sale from a drop.
Gemini Balance
- Use can connect their Gemini account and pay with currencies stored in their Gemini balance. This is useful if a user wants to spend a large sum of money - deposits can be made into Gemini via ACH in the US, wire transfer, or Cryptocurrency.
Payment flexibility is a major advantage of Nifty Gateway’s architecture and we are seeking to add new payment methods for drops and secondary market transactions all the time.
Nifty Gateway’s Custody Option
Nifty Gateway is a hybrid custodial/non-custodial NFT marketplace.
We provide a custody option for purchasers to use if they wish, but fully and equally support both custody and self custody on our marketplace. It is up to the user to choose what they prefer.
Custody means that the NFT is held on behalf of a user. This is usually an attractive option for first time NFT buyers, or anyone who finds wallet and private key management intimidating.
Managing a self custodied wallet is tricky and can be very harmful if done wrong; NFT users are the victims of hacks almost every day. Nifty Gateway’s custody is powered by Gemini’s state-of-the-art custody tech, which has safely custodied billions of dollars of cryptocurrency for nearly 8 years.
Nifty Gateway fully supports self custody as well. Users can view their self custodied NFTs on their profile, put NFTs up for sale directly from self custody, and direct secondary market purchases to go straight to a self custodied wallet if they wish.
Custody on Drops
By default, every primary market purchase goes directly into a user’s Nifty Gateway Custodial Account. From there it can be traded on the custodial marketplace, sent to another user on Nifty Gateway, or withdrawn to a self custodied wallet at any time.
No Gas Wars
One major advantage of dropping NFTs on Nifty Gateway is that there are no gas wars.
This is because of the powerful architecture Nifty Gateway employs, where NFT minting and NFT sales are separate transactions, instead of being a single atomic transaction. This allows us to prevent gas wars completely.
Nifty Gateway is built to handle large drops; we have handled drops that did $91M in volume in the past.
Customer Support for Your Buyers
When users sign up for a Nifty Gateway account, they can sign up with an email and password.
If they lose their password, they can always reset it on Nifty Gateway, or reach out to Nifty Gateway customer support for help.
This is especially useful if you are selling NFTs to people who have never bought them before - even if they forget their password, their NFTs are safe and recoverable by them, which is not the case with a private key - something that throws off many first time crypto users.
Trading Custodied NFTs on Nifty Gateway
Users can put NFTs in their custodial Nifty Gateway account up for sale at any point, once they have become an Authorized Seller, which is a very quick process.
Once sold on the marketplace, proceeds from the sale will go to a user’s Nifty Gateway balance, where they can be used to buy NFTs or cashed out.
Users can also accept offers made on their NFTs while held in custody.
Trading Self Custodied NFTs on Nifty Gateway
Users can also trade NFTs from their own self custody. To do so, they must connect their wallet to their Nifty Gateway account.
They can view all connected wallets on their profile page. From there, they can click on an NFT and click “List for Sale” to list it for sale directly from their own self custodied wallet.
Withdrawing Custodied NFTs
NFTs custodied in Nifty Gateway can be withdrawn to any self custodied wallet at any time.
To do so, go to the NFT detail page from your profile, and click “Withdraw Nifty”, then enter the address you want to withdraw it to. Users must pay to withdraw an NFT, since moving an NFT on chain requires paying a gas fee.
Depositing NFTs
NFTs can be deposit into Nifty Gateway custody at any time, as long as they are verified and tradebale on our system.
To do so, connect the wallet you want to deposit them from, view your profile, view that NFT on your wallet, and click “Deposit”.
Make sure your wallet is connected and on the browser so that you can call the transaction to deposit it.
Viewing your NFTs as a User
To view your NFTs, click on your profile.
From there, you can see all your NFTs held in custody, as well as NFTs from your self custodied wallet.
